Our Story
Well, thanks for checking out our story.
My name is Rick and I'm husband to Lisa and dad to Charlie and Jax. I have ADHD and so does our younger son, Jax. If you know, you know how challenging ADHD can be socially, academically, professionally, etc.
The Walla Chair was inspired by Jax. One Christmas several years ago, we bought a new artificial Christmas tree and Jax made the box into a cozy chair with his blanket, pillow and his best buddy Pooh Bear.
As I looked at all the chair offerings for kids with ADHD, sensory chairs, etc., I couldn't find anything that didn't require hanging from the ceiling, wasn't susceptible to losing air, or would even look good in our living room or a classroom. So I decided to design one myself with Jax as my cute little guinea pig!
A few years later and prototypes later, and the Walla Chair was born. I decided to go with a chair as our first product. Our next chair will be a lounger more like the original idea.
The goal of the Walla Chair is to provide a place where any kid can feel safe, confident and valued. Our hope is that every child can learn that their value and worth is innate and theirs just because of who they were born to be. Their worth and value is God given and cannot be diminished by anything.
